...getting lost all over again...
Is about getting away from everything mundane and riding into the unknown.
NOT EXACTLY
IS ABOUT NOT STARTING YOUR DAY WHILE EVERYONE DOES... THE DAY STARTS AND ENDS WHEN YOU DECIDE.
Well... as a group collective decisions go a long way.
Is about time spent with oneself, immensely assisted by mother nature.
Where, it is not uncommon to be absolutely overwhelmed by an experience, which perhaps assists or is catalytic in discovering yourself.
Where, a loud 'Yahoo' or a silent 'Thank you' is perhaps a liberating moment!
AawaraHoon: Pretty much a marriage of two words Aawara & Hoon, Aawara meaning 'Vagabond' & Hoon meaning 'I am' pronounced /ɑː/v/ɑː/ra/hoo/n
who synoyms amongst others: Adventurer, Nomad, Vagabond, Wanderer, Drifter, Wayfarer, etc. with associated words such as - noun: Aawara /ɑː/v/ɑː/ra
,
adjective: Aawaragard /ɑː/v/ɑː/ra/`gard,
verb: Aawaragardi /ɑː/v/ɑː/ra/`gard/i:
We are, to say the least, are a group of avid travellers who have travelled the sub-continent primarily by road on Motorcycles, Cars, SUVs, Buses (bus top chiefly), Railways, Trucks, Bicycles, Tractors, Bullock Carts, on foot and at times the poor Donkey.
Alkhilesh Raj
Principal aawara, having travelled most part of the country in the last 26 years, nurtures the idea of indulging in a years’ trip to all the SAARC nations. Having started his aawaragardi two months (August, 1989) into his first acquisition of a YEZDI 250 Classic to the serene surroundings of Ranikhet & Corbett Tiger Reserve, graduating to a twin cylinder Jawa 350 & finally a Royal Enfield 500 classic now. Still on that mode, and eagerly looking forward to discover & rediscover the length & the breadth of this amazing country.
Ambarish Raj
Partner in crime, acquired his first YEZDI 250 Classic (August 1989) subsequently graduating to a Yamaha 350 twin. If ever aawaragardi could be rated on a scale of 1 -10 then he most certainly will be the winner clocking 9.989 or thereabouts! There is no place in the outback that hasn’t seen his footsteps – in particular, the wild life trails of pretty much the entire country. A god gifted extra sensitive peripheral vision, he can spot a spotted owlet or a spotted cat while driving at 30kmph on a kachha trail by the mountainside.
'Lord' Manjigani Anand Rao
A die hard fitness freak, it is not uncommon to find him sweating it out on the Aravalis and averaging 10 – 15 kms everyday! A Techie, Voice trainer, Corporate trainer acquired the title ‘Lord’ during his first stint with Apple, Inc. Makes sure that each member/rider to be as fit as possible and ready to take on the challenges a bike/4wd tour throws up.
Ashok ‘Ustaadji’
A bike enthusiast and a ‘doctor’ rolled into one – he is the man behind letting us enjoy the luxury of all road trips without worrying about the health of our rides. His boastful words about his skills are and I quote “There is no problem” in a bike that can’t be diagnosed & treated effectively and in TIME!
John
A paramedic by training & profession shares the zest of mixing pleasure with business. Under the impression that he was born in a wrong geographical area and has embraced the north & west of India, particularly the hills & Rajasthan as his origins – though, at weaker moments he does confess & takes pride that he comes from ‘God’s own country’
Raju
He is the quintessential Chotu, Cadbury, Passepartout – A genuine love for mother nature as it is, an import from the hindu kingdom of Nepal, is a good hand at almost anything and no trip can ever be completely & satisfactorily undertaken without his participation.
